Retention and security

We keep your information only as long as we need it to provide Chowstik to you and fulfil the purposes described in this policy. When we no longer need to use your information and there is no need to keep it for legal or regulatory obligations, we will remove it from our systems or depersonalize it so we cannot identify you.

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order or enter, submit or access your personal information.

All supplied sensitive or credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and encrypted into our payment gateway providers' database, accessible only by those authorized with special access rights and required to keep the information confidential.

Such updates, corrections, changes and deletions will have no effect on other information we maintain, or information we provided to third parties in accordance with this Privacy Policy before the update, correction, change or deletion.

If you are a Chowstik worker or applicant, we collect information you voluntarily provide to us and use it for Human Resources purposes, including administering benefits and screening applicants.

We reserve the right to transfer information to a third party in the event of a sale, merger or other transfer of all or substantially all assets of Chowstik or its Corporate Affiliates, or if we discontinue our business or enter bankruptcy, reorganization or similar proceedings, provided the third party agrees to adhere to this Privacy Policy.

We may disclose information, including personal information, about you to our Corporate Affiliates. Corporate Affiliate means any person or entity that directly or indirectly controls, is controlled by, or is under common control with Chowstik.

Payments, kids, changes and third-party services

In respect to any credit card or other payment processing details you provide, we commit that this confidential information will be stored in the most secure manner possible.

We collect information from kids under the age of 13 just to better our services. If you are a parent or guardian and know your child has provided Personal Data without permission, please contact us. If we learn we collected Personal Data from anyone under 13 without parental consent, we take steps to remove it from our servers.

We may change our Service and policies and may need to update this Privacy Policy so it accurately reflects them. Unless otherwise required by law, we will notify you before changes go into effect and give you an opportunity to review them.

We may display, include or make available third-party content or provide links to third-party websites or services. Chowstik is not responsible for Third-Party Services, including their accuracy, completeness, legality, quality or any other aspect. You access and use them at your own risk and subject to third-party terms.

Tracking technologies and GDPR

Google Maps API may collect information from you and your Device for security purposes and holds information in accordance with its Privacy Policy. Local Storage provides web apps with methods for storing client-side data. Sessions identify areas of our platform you have visited.

If you are from the European Economic Area, GDPR may apply. GDPR is an EU-wide privacy and data protection law that regulates how EU residents' data is protected and enhances control over personal data.

Personal data includes any data relating to an identifiable or identified individual, including financial information, political opinions, genetic data, biometric data, IP addresses, physical address, sexual orientation, ethnicity, names and email addresses.

Data Protection Principles require personal data to be processed fairly, legally and transparently, collected for a specific purpose, held no longer than necessary, and made accessible, updatable, deletable, restrictable or portable where applicable.

Chowstik processes or stores personal data in vetted, DPA-compliant vendors. We store conversation and personal data for up to 6 years unless your account is deleted; in that case we dispose of data in accordance with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and will not hold it longer than 60 days.

The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) requires us to disclose categories of Personal Information we collect and how we use it, the categories of sources from whom we collect Personal Information, and the third parties with whom we share it, which we have explained above.

California residents may exercise the Right to Know and Access, Right to Equal Service, Right to Delete, and the right to request that a business that sells a consumer's personal data not sell that data. We do not sell the Personal Information of our users.
